Building the Foundations of Local Communities

Communication with Local Communities

Our mission is to contribute to local communities through energy. Since our founding, we have established sales offices throughout the Kanto region and have built relationships with our customers through communication based on the characteristics of each region. While prioritizing to provide energy in a safe and secure manner, we will work to revitalize local communities and promote sustainability as a partner that is close to the lives of local residents.

Communication with Local Communities through Sports

Initiatives with Tokyo Verdy

We are the corporate partners of the Tokyo Verdy soccer team and the Nippon TV Tokyo Verdy Beleza soccer team. In the 2024 season, Tokyo Verdy was promoted to the J1 League for the first time after 16 years. We have installed banners celebrating their promotion to the J1 League at all of our offices, organized bus tours to Tokyo Verdy's away games, and are making other efforts to delight both supporters and local residents.

Initiatives with Utsunomiya Brex (basketball team)

Utsunomiya Brex, a professional basketball team that NICIGAS official sponsors, is promoting "BREX with" as a project to address the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As a sponsor of this project, we contribute to the local community by donating basketballs to local elementary school mini-basketball clubs and inviting them to BREX home games. In November 2024, NICIGAS began offering the Brex Gas Denki Plan, in which a portion of gas and electricity bills are used to cover the operating and training expenses of the team. NICIGAS is committed to promoting sports and contributing to community development through energy supply initiatives.

NICIGAS invited a total of 600 people, mainly elementary school students, local residents and business partners to UTSUNOMIYA BREX home games. The children who attended the game were given novelty gifts and also participated in other social activities together.

Initiatives with Saitama Musashi Heat Bears (baseball team)

As an official sponsor, NICIGAS supports Saitama Musashi Heat Bears, a professional baseball team dedicated to contributing to the local community through sports. Sharing this vision, NICIGAS invited youth baseball teams to a game against Kanagawa Future Dreams in May 2024. On the same day, we set up an exhibition space outside the stadium showcasing hybrid water heaters and storage batteries, as well as EV vehicles, promoting optimal energy use to the local community.

Community-focused events

Hosting cooking classes

We host cooking classes in order to become a more familiar presence within the local community. At the Central Kanto Regional Office, participants have shared feedback such as “The detailed explanations helped me understand how to use the equipment,” and “NICIGAS feels like a familiar and reliable company I can turn to when needed.” The classes are managed by NICIGAS’ employees, with a strong focus not only on community contribution but also on medium- to long-term corporate growth. After each session, we introduce its DEGAWARI electricity rate plan and hybrid water heaters.

Gas equipment sales event

We organize various activities for the local community at gas equipment sales events held at each branch every autumn. To gain broad community support for citybuilding through energy, the Abiko Sales Office of the East Kanto Regional Office hosted an event in November 2024 in collaboration with city hall, the fire department, and local elementary schools and universities. This event featured not only energy solution product sales, such as solar panels, but also food education activities, creating opportunities for community interaction, and approx. 5,000 people attended.

Solar car workshops

We regularly hold solar car workshops alongside its gas equipment sales events. These workshops explain the mechanism of solar power generation and the importance of renewable energy through quizzes. Participants also build and operate solar cars, allowing them to gain hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of renewable energy. Participants have shared feedback such as “I became interested in installing solar panels at home, and I learned a lot,” indicating that these workshops contribute to greater environmental awareness. Additionally, many participants express interest in simulating electricity cost savings through solar power, which also helps promote our energy solution equipment.
