Respect for human rights
Responsibility for stakeholders
NICIGAS recognizes that respecting human rights is a fundamental prerequisite for the continued and sustainable growth of its business over the medium- to long-term. Based on this recognition, NICIGAS respects the rights of all stakeholders involved with the Company and prevents any unjust violations. We conduct our business with a strong commitment to international norms such as the International Bill of Human Rights, the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and the United Nations Global Compact’s Principles on Human Rights, aiming to achieve a sustainable society and enhance corporate value.
Promotion structure
NICIGAS Group has established its approach to respecting human rights through key policies, including the Code of Conduct for Nippon Gas Group Officers and Employees, the Multistakeholder Policy, and the Declaration of Partnership Building. Additionally, the Group Risk Management Committee, a subordinate body of the Internal Control System Committee, develops and operates mechanisms to obviate human rights violations and provide appropriate remedies. The Group Compliance Committee investigates and deliberates the incident, and discusses recurrence prevention measures in response to compliance-related incidents such as human rights violations or harassment. In addition, it promotes educational initiatives aimed at raising day-to-day compliance awareness.
Moving forward, the Company will enhance its systems to detect early warning signs through AI-based risk analysis and to report rapidly on risks that become apparent in the event of an emergency. Through these initiatives, NICIGAS will build a more effective management system that responds to changes in the business environment and the growing scale of the Company.
