Policy for Sustainability

Basic Approach

Our mission is contributing to local communities through energy. As a company responsible for the last mile of energy distribution, we will enhance our corporate value over the medium- to long-term while solving various challenges that local communities face for instance climate change, labor shortages, improving operational efficiency in the energy industry, and changing consumer needs.

To achieve these issues, we will evolve the way of energy. Specifically, we will expand our "Energy Solution Business," which proposes optimal energy use, and our "Platform Business," in which we share our highly efficient infrastructure across the industry, to solve social issues and maximize corporate value. In addition, toward expanding these businesses, we will maximize the value of employees who continue to take on new initiatives.

Sustainability Promotion Structure

For the sustainable growth of a company, balanced coprosperity with a wide range of stakeholders, including the environment and society, along with profit growth, is essential. To this end, a governance structure that incorporates objective opinions from the outside perspectives of outside officers is necessary. We have established the Nomination and Remuneration, Environmental, etc., Committee ("NR&E Committee") as a voluntary advisory committee to the Board of Directors, and discusses with an emphasis on sustainability. The Board of Directors decides policies for addressing each sustainability issue after discussion by the Committee.

Material Issues

Material issues are defined as important matters that affect medium- to long-term corporate value. Based on the content already established, the Board of Directors reviews material issues and priority initiatives after consulting and reporting to the NR&E Committee.
