Joint Use of Personal Information Regarding Electricity Applications

1.Scope of Persons Authorized for Joint Use

Our company may jointly use the personal information of customers with parties below (*1).


- Electricity retailers (*2)

- General electricity transmission and distribution utility (*3)

- Organization for Cross-regional Coordination of Transmission Operators (OCCTO)

- Demand control contractors (*4)

2.The objective of Joint Use

- To conclude, change, or cancel a wheeling service contract or an electricity quantity adjustment service contract

 (hereafter referred to as “wheeling service contracts”) 

- To broker the discontinuation of a retail service contract (including contracts related to services for remote islands

 and last resort service contracts) or electricity supply contracts (hereafter referred to as “retail service contracts”)

- To check information related to service (power reception) points

- To perform general electricity transmission and distribution utility services based on wheeling service contracts,

 including metering electricity usage, equipment maintenance, inspection, replacement, equipment inspection

 after blackouts or disasters, and other services

- To perform services related to negawatt trading

3.Information Items for Joint Use

- Basic Information:

Name, address, phone number, and retail service contract number

- Information related to service (power reception) points:

Service area of the general electricity transmission and distribution utility that concluded a wheeling service contract, subject of remote islands supply agreement, service (power reception) point identification number, information on the amount of the wheeling service contract, the upper limit of the current, connected transmission service menu, power factor, service method, how to decide wheeling service contracts, meter information, leading-in pole number, presence/absence of grid connection equipment, wheeling service contract transfer date, meter reading date, contract state, discontinuation methods

- Information related to negawatt trading:

Volume of power generated for sales, volume in demand procured, demand control volume, baseline

4.Administrator Responsible for Joint Use

- Basic Information:

Electricity retailers under a retail service contract (however, for the basic information of consumers receiving services for remote islands or last resort supply, the general electricity transmission and distribution utility)

- Information Related to Service (power reception) Points:

General electricity transmission and distribution utility covering the service (power reception) point as the service area

- Information Related to Negawatt Trading:

Demand control contractor

Our company uses personal information jointly with only businesses that are necessary to achieve joint use objectives and does not always jointly use personal information of customers with all electricity retailers, general electricity transmission and distribution utilities, or demand control contractors.

Electricity retailers are businesses that do not fall under the Electricity Business Act (Act No. 170 of July 11th, 1964)’s registration refusal clause under Article 2-5 Paragraph 1 and is registered as an electricity retailer by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (including businesses that are registered as electricity retailers under the supplementary provisions of the law amending parts of the Electricity Business Act, No. 72 of 2014) (Please see the website of the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy for the names and addresses of businesses).

General electricity transmission and distribution utilities refer to Hokkaido Electric Power Company, Tohoku Electric Power Company, TEPCO Power Grid Incorporated, Chubu Electric Power Company, Hokuriku Electric Power Company, The Kansai Electric Power Company, The Chugoku Electric Power Company, Shikoku Electric Power Company, Kyushu Electric Power Company, and The Okinawa Electric Power Company.

Demand control contractors are businesses with a demand control and adjustment service contract with general electricity transmission and distribution utility members (including businesses that obtained a business code before signing a contract) (Please see the website of the Organization for Cross-regional Coordination of Transmission Operators, JAPAN for the names and addresses of businesses).

“Brokerage of the discontinuation of a retail service contract” refers to a business that received a new application for a retail service contract from a customer acting as an agent of the customer to cancel the existing retail service contract with the existing business.
